Christopher Ficke, VMD — Chief of Staff
Dr. Christopher Ficke, our Chief of Staff, purchased Chester Veterinary Clinic in November of 1982. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979, he started practicing in Bristol, Connecticut, while looking to purchase a practice of his own. After moving to Chester, Dr. Ficke found a then struggling Chester Veterinary Clinic, which, with lots of hard work, was developed into the successful veterinarian practice it is today.
Dr. Ficke has become a vital member of the practice and the community. He has also served as a member and past president of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). He lives in town with his wife and three sons. When not at the clinic he enjoys boating, water skiing, scuba diving and biking.
Caroline Peese, DVM
Dr. Caroline Peese has been working in the veterinary field since 1997, starting as a receptionist/assistant and progressing to a technician.
She enjoyed her work in the field so much that she decided to go back to school to become a veterinarian. Dr. Peese attended the University of Illinois, where she obtained her veterinary degree in 2007.
She has been a member of the Chester Veterinary Clinic family since October 2007. Dr. Peese lives in Haddam with her husband, two children, a dog, and four cats.
Ellie Walhberg, DVM
Dr. Ellie Walhberg was raised in Rhode Island. She earned an undergraduate degree from University of New Hampshire and went on to work for the Royal Veterinary College in London for two years after. Dr. Walhberg then completed an internship with Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital and another with the University of Missouri.
After working with New York Racing Association she decided to move closer to home and accepted a position with a large animal practice. Dr. Walhberg could not be more excited to be joining our team here at Chester Veterinary Clinic.
