Christopher Ficke, VMD

Dr. Ficke purchased Chester Veterinary Clinic in November of 1982. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979, he started practicing in Bristol, Connecticut, while looking to purchase a practice of his own. After moving to Chester, Dr. Ficke found a then struggling Chester Veterinary Clinic, which, with lots of hard work, was developed into the successful four-veterinarian practice it is today.

Dr. Ficke has become a vital member of the practice and the community. He has also served as a member and past president of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). He lives in town with his wife and three sons. When not at the clinic he enjoys boating, water skiing, scuba diving and biking.

Caroline Peese, DVMDr. Peese has been working in the veterinary field since 1997, starting as a receptionist/assistant and progressing to a technician. She enjoyed her work in the field so much that she decided to go back to school to become a veterinarian. Dr. Peese attended the University of Illinois, where she obtained her veterinary degree in 2007.

She has been a member of the Chester Veterinary Clinic family since October 2007. Dr. Peese lives in Haddam with her husband, two children, a dog, and four cats.

Keith Nobert, VMDDr. Nobert grew up in Avon, Connecticut and received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Georgia in 1996. He recently received his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.

Dr. Nobert's medical interests include surgery and internal medicine. He has two cats named Claire and Katya and will be looking for a dog to join his family soon. During his free time, he enjoys skiing, photography, and running.

Dr. Nobert is excited to be back in Connecticut after so many years away, and we are thrilled that he has joined the Chester Veterinary Clinic team!

Joseph Shrack, DVM with owlDr. Shrack has returned back to Connecticut after working in Virginia for the last few years. He is originally from west Connecticut, where he worked with both equine and companion animals. With his advanced training in dental procedures, Dr. Shrack brings a wealth of dental knowledge to Chester Veterinary Clinic. He attended UCONN for his Bachelor in Animal Science Degree. He then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
